Transfer a Domain (web address)
You can change the host for your top level domain and pay less for your annual charges. When you transfer you will not loose any of the remaining months before your expiry date. For example a registration expiring Dec 2002 will, after transfer, expire Dec 2003 or Dec 2004 - depending whether 1 or 2 years registration is purchased.
Once transferred. you may leave the domain 'parked' - ie not pointing to a server - until you have created webpages and purchased webspace on a server for them. It's FREE and there's no time limit, so you can reserve your domain name NOW and work on a webpage later. Alternatively, your domain can point to an existing URL (such as free webspace you get with your ISP). This too is FREE, although if the URL is subsequently changed a small administration charge ($10 or £7) is made. Email addressed to your domain can also be redirected to an email address of your choice (eg a Hotmail address). Again this is FREE, but an administration charge of $10 or £7 is made for changes.
For a domain to be transferred, the 'Administrative Contact' has to be contacted for permission. The Administrative Contact may then contact the Domain Registrant (owner). With EconomicHosting.com you can be both Registrant and Administrative Contact - which will facilitate any future transfer. (For future .co.uk and .org.uk "tag" changes, we unavoidably have to make a £14 charge - still considerably less than the £75 that others are charging.)

To transfer a domain name
Please note that, to allow time for the transfer to be completed, only domain names with at least 2 months left before the current expiry date can be transferred. Also, internet rules forbid transferring from a host until you have been with that host for at least 6 weeks.
